A summer in Salt Lake....fixing Stuff
With Jonas living temporarily in Myrtle Beach, we decided to seize the moment and spend the summer "tarting up" his humble abode in Salt Lake. His plans on what to do with the place were uncertain, but I knew that it needed a bit of work...I was the one who helped the original renovations when he bought the place in 2010 and *never* quite finished. So, we headed to SLC, tools in hand.
I had two main goals: to renovate the downstairs bath, which tended to leak through the tiles, and to finish sheetrocking the garage, which also needed some serious de-cluttering and organizing (Debbie's forte!). Along the way we took care of some yardwork and landscaping. I rebuilt a balcony that had seen too many years without maintenance. Up on the roof I removed a long unused swamp cooler and did some small repairs to the chimney. Add to that some general deep-cleaning to tidy up multiple years of dog wrestling, and we had a pretty busy summer. Multiple trips to the dump and multiple trips to the thrift store to donate items rounded out the tasks.
We love Salt Lake and would love to return! Pray we can win the lottery so we can afford a place there....
